On 5th October 2012, Dr. Hans van Loon, then Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law, officially opened the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions, during the 10th jubilee International Conference on Private International Law (held on 4-5 October 2012 at the Faculty of Law University of Niš). The Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions is located on the premises of the Law Faculty in Niš.

ACTUALITIES
The Center has its own library on the Hague conventions (books, articles). Important part of this library is the generous gift from the Hague Conference - Actes et documents as well as other relevant publications of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
On 28th April 2014, Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions has organized the lecture of Professor Slavko Đorđević Adaptation, transposition and substitution in Private International Law, Faculty of Law in Kragujevac (see details).
Having in mind the problems in practical application of the Hague Conventions, the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions initiated the cooperation with the Basic (formerly Municipal) Court in Niš (the first Workshop was held on 12 November 2015 on the premises of the Higher Court in Niš, see details). Besides, the Center is open to everyone experiencing difficulties in the cases covered by the relevant Hague conventions.
On 13th April 2016, the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions has organized the lecture of distinguished Greek Professor Spyridon Vrellis Questions on the Protection of Cultural Heritage (see details).
On 14th April 2016, the Law Faculty in Niš was the host of the 4th Balkan Conference Personal Name in Internal Law and Private International Law (see details).
On 10th April 2017, the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions had the great honor to organize the lectures of Mr. Hans van Loon, former long-standing Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (see details)
On April 30th 2018, the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions had an honor to organize the lecture "From Niš to the World: Conventions as Connections", given by Prof. Marta Pertegás, former First Secretary of the Hague Conference on Private International Law and Professor of the Faculty of Law University of Maastricht and the Law Faculty University of Antwerp (see details).
On May 14th 2018, the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions had an honor to organize the lecture "Introduction to EU Private International Law and Brexit implications", given by Dr. Dr. h.c. Christa Jessel-Holst, former Senior Research Fellow (Head of the South East Europe Unit) of the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg; Member of the Civil Law Forum for South East Europe (see details).
