On 5th October 2012, Dr. Hans van Loon, then Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law, officially opened the Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions, during the 10th jubilee International Conference on Private International Law (held on 4-5 October 2012 at the Faculty of Law University of Niš). The Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions is located on the premises of the Law Faculty in Niš.

ABOUT THE CENTER
The Center for Private International Law of the Hague Conventions (Faculty of Law University of Niš) is the only one of this kind in the South East Europe and its goal is to promote a more extensive study on the conventions adopted by the Hague Conference on Private international Law and their more efficient implementation in practice of Serbian courts and Social Care Centres.
The President of the Center is Professor Mirko Živković (Faculty of Law University of Niš) and a long-standing representative of the Republic of Serbia at the Council on General Affairs and Policy of the Conference. Professor Živković is also the President of the Serbian Government's Council on Private International Law. Professor Živković was the President of the Serbian Ministry of Justice’s Working Group for Drafting the new Private International Law Act.
The Vice-President of the Center is Sanja Marjanović, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Law University of Niš. She was the Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Justice’s Working Group for Drafting the new Private International Law Act (2011-2014). Serbian Government's Council on Private International Law has appointed Sanja Marjanović as the rapporteur at the Council's expert disscusions on the proposals for the ratification of two Hague Conventions - Convention of 19 October 1996 on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Co-operation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children and the Convention of 23 November 2007 on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance.
